I first used the PrO2 at the start of the COVID pandemic in 2020, in a very uncertain time, when high death rates and long-term incapacity were forecast. It seemed exceptionally sensible at that time to maximize respiratory reserve and function so that I would be better able to withstand the ravages of the disease if I were unlucky enough to contract COVID.

It took a few attempts to get used to the device. Still, it rapidly became invaluable to me, primarily because it comprised training that would improve respiratory muscle strength and endurance, critical aspects in surviving and overcoming pneumonia.

I found the performance data particularly useful in assessing progress. Having a goal with each training session is essential for overall improvement. Using the PrO2 has bettered my performance in cycling, rowing, canoeing, mountain climbing, and running, which I do regularly.

Having worked in Medicine for many years, I have seen many patients who rarely exercise and the adverse effects of leading a sedentary lifestyle. I intend to exercise regularly for years and will use the PrO2 as part of my exercise program.
