I am a T4 paraplegic who started training with the RT2 (the precursor to the PrO2) in around 2005. Training twice a week, I made huge gains, creating seriously strong respiratory muscles. This meant that my breathing was always so controlled: when taking deep breaths, my lungs and chest felt very strong and clear; when lying in bed, my breathing felt so calm; when exercising hard at altitudes of up to 2,500m, getting oxygen into my lungs was never a problem.
I stopped training for around 15 years. My breathing always felt good during that time, even during illnesses and COVID-19. Then, I started training again in 2023 with PrO2. I was amazed that a lot of the muscle strength was still there. There were still gains to be made, but it showed that PrO2 training provides fundamental and long-term benefits.
Nothing trains the respiratory muscles like PrO2 does. The training is hard work, but the benefits are enormous. I don’t wish to tempt fate, but as I enter my 50s, breathing difficulties in old age are not a concern.
